섬유재료로 전통적으로 사용되어 온 실크에 대하여 많은 과학적인 연구결과 실크는 습도를 조절하는 능력이 우수하고, 높은 항균력을 가지며 자외선을 차단하고 피부 염증 및 여드름을 예방하는 등 독특하고 신비로운 특성을 지니고 있으며, 또한 콜라겐 생성 및 피부 세포 재생을 촉진한다는 사실이 과학적으로 입증되고 있습니다. 그런데 이러한 실크의 신비로운 특성은 실크의 ‘피브로인 단백질’ 이 가지고 있는 특성이며, 오랫동안 헤어케어 제품과 화장품에 사용되어온 ‘세리신’이나 ‘실크아미노산’과 같이 실크 구조가 분해된 형태의 실크소재 (Broken silk) 는 실크가 가지는 본래의 많은 우수한 특성을 가지고 있지 못한다는 단점이 있습니다.
Silk fiber that has been traditionally used in textiles is the fibroin protein, which is known to have several unique and even mysterious characteristics such as a superior capability in modulating moisture, providing an anti-bacterial agent, blocking UV ray, preventing skin inflammation and pimples, as well as promoting the production of collagen and regeneration of skin cells. In addition, Silk fibroin protein has excellent biocompatibility with human cells, so there is no immune rejection in the human body, so it is also used as a material for artificial organs. However, general silk materials like silk amino acids or silk peptides and hydrolyzed sericin that have been widely used in hair and skin care products are “Broken Silk”, because they are made by decomposing silk protein with chemicals or enzyme, so they can only sustain a fraction of their original capabilities of silk protein, hence not performing up to par.

화인코㈜는 실크 피브로인이 가지고 있는 많은 신비한 특성을 그대로 유지하면서, 더 높은 보습능력과 더 많은 오일을 포집하는 능력, 자외선 차단능력 향상 등의 새로운 기능성을 가지면서 다양한 분야에서 응용될 수 있는 새로운 형태의 실크 소재를 개발하고자 20년 이상 실크에 대한 연구 결과 “실크크리스탈”이라는 당사만의 독점적이고 혁신적인 바이오 생체소재를 개발하게 되었습니다. 실크 크리스탈은 물 분자를 자체 무게의 50 배까지 결합시키는 많은 미세 네트워크로 구성되어 있는 단백질 마이크로 구조체이며, 유화제를 사용하지 않고도 물과 기름을 모두 흡수할 수 있어 어떠한 종류의 유효성분도 잘 포집, 전달할수 있습니다. 이러한 특성은 특히 천연화장품 및 기능성 식품 제조에 매우 적합하므로, 현재 스위스, 독일, 프랑스의 유명 화장품 회사에서 천연화장품의 주원료로 사용중에 있으며, 식품 및 의료용 소재로도 응용 개발되고 있습니다. 프랑스에서의 임상시험결과 실크 크리스탈은 피부결 개선, 주름완화, 오일과 피지흡착 제거 등의 효과로 피부상태를 크게 개선해준다는 사실이 밝혀졌습니다.
In order to develop a new type of silk material that can be applied in various fields, as a result of more than 20 years of research on Silk, FINECO has developed our own exclusive and innovative biomaterial called “Silk Crystal”, which has new functions such as higher moisturizing capability, ability to capture more oil, and improved UV protection while maintaining many of the mysterious properties of silk fibroin, Silk Crystal is a protein microstructure network composed of many micro pores that bind water molecules up to 50 times its weight and can absorb both water and oil without the use of chemical emulsifiers, allowing it to bind and deliver any kind of active ingredient. These properties are particularly suitable for the manufacture of natural cosmetics and functional foods, so Silk Crystal is currently used as the main raw material of natural cosmetics by some cosmetic companies in Europe, and it is also being developed as functional food and medical materials. Clinical trials have shown that Silk Crystal significantly improves skin condition by improving skin texture, reducing wrinkles, and removing oil and sebum adsorption.

FINECO is always striving to develop original and innovative natural products. As examples of FINECO’s unique and innovative products, we have developed a silk protein encapsulation technology that captures unstable natural active ingredients in microcapsules and stabilizes them against oxidation, sun light and environmental conditions using silk fibroin protein.
We have developed a hydrogel film with silk fibroin protein and commercialized it as a special skincare mask pack product with multifunction such as wrinkle improvement, pore reduction, and lifting effect. In addition, we have developed an innovative and original Silk Crystal Hydrogel film embedded with silk microcapsules in the hydrogel film and gradually releases the active ingredients under certain conditions. This allows the contents of the capsule to be efficiently delivered to the skin in a stable manner, making it a product that can be applied to the skincare and medical fields
FINECO has developed several “Silk-Bio Complex” products that are combined with silk proteins and other natural materials to give them new functionality. “Silk-Gold Complex”, “Silk-Astaxanthin Complex”, and “Silk-Hyaluronic Acid Complex” are examples of commercialized Silk Bio Complex products. In addition, we have developed new formulations such as nano capsules and lipid nanoparticles using silk proteins, and are conducting systematic research on technologies to effectively transport medicinal and cosmetic ingredients across the skin barrier.
